Lo traigo a este post porque en pocos dias sacan un nuevo single (pongo video al final del post).

Clan de Xymox / Xymox es un grupo de darkwave / goth rock que se formó en Nijmegen (Holanda) en 1983. Sacaron por su cuenta un EP (Subsequent Pleasures) del que no llegaron a venderse 500 copias. El azar hizo que conocieran a Brendan Perry y Lisa Gerrard (de Dead Can Dance), les apoyaron en su primera gira en el Reino Unido y consiguieron un contrato con su sello discografico (4AD)

Clan of Xymox - Medusa - 1987

This is essentially Clan of Xymox at their earliest and possibly best. This album is generally easy listening pleasure, with the substance of dark-wave and synth pop Clan of Xymox became famous for, and enjoyed much success with, and possibly an album they never were able to match thereafter

En 1989, despues de abandonar el sello 4AD, firmaron contrato con Polydor y cambiaron el nombre a Xymox. Sacaron el album Twist of Shadows, su mayor éxito comercial, aunque también esa comercialidad se nota en su estilo, menos oscuro y más popero.

El mejor de los álbumes editados por 'Xymox'. Algunos clásicos como Obsession, Evelyn, Imagination, y Blind Hearts están en este álbum.

Es obscuro, profundo, seductor y complicado. Es un poco mejor que "Medusa". Una lástima que Xymox no haya podido recapturar estos momentos. Un álbum esencial para la audición nocturna.

Otro cambio de compañía, esta vez pasan a una compañía independiente (Zok Records) y algunos de los miembros dejan el grupo. El grupo sufre un cambio de orientación y se aleja más del pop y se deja seducir por los ritmos dance.

En 1997 vuelven a cambiar de compañia (Tess Records) y recuperan el nombre original, Clan of Xymox. Comienzan a hacer giras intensivamente, consiguiendo ganar una base solida de fans, sobre todo en Estados Unidos.

Editan los albumes Hidden Faces (1997), Creatures (1999), Notes from the underground (2001), un album de remezclas Remixes from the underground (2002), Farewell (2003) y Breaking Point (2006)
